Poor Bapuji Homeless..

The government has expressed disappointment because a French company has snapped Mahatma Gandhi's Johannesburg house through an auction firm by the name "Sotheby".However, the Government said that it will continue efforts to acquire the heritage property through a public sector company.

Coal India Ltd, under the control of the Coal Ministry, had approached the owners of the house where the Father of our nation lived a century ago, for acquiring the property.

The Coal Ministry, through Coal India Ltd. had approached the sellers of the house and was ready to pay any amount they wished for. Negotiations were on but unfortunately, despite giving a month's deadline, the owners did not get in touch with them.

The Coal Ministry board has taken a decision that its employees would part with a day's salary towards a fund for acquiring the house.Infact Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal has already announced to donate his one month's salary besides making efforts for arranging more funds.

Voyageurs du Monde, a Paris Stock Exchange listed company, has bought 'the Kraal', located at the leafy suburb of Orchards in Johannesburg at a price believed to be almost twice the asking price of US $377,029.

This is a matter which concerns national sentiment and it is really disappointing that one of our national heritage has been taken away from us.Our country has, therefore, lost its another precious treasure.
