3 most eagerly awaits of 2009.

As the year 2009 bids farewell to us,it gives us the top three best eagerly awaited things on which every1 has been keeping their eyes on right from the commencement of this year:

On the 3rd position,we have the world's most hot and happening Thai Martial Arts superstar Tony Jaa who has become the generation next martial arts legend after Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan and that too, just after the release of his debut movie Ong Bak in the year 2003.Jackie Chan, whom Tony Jaa has adored and idolised right from his childhood had already offered him a role in a Hollywood movie after being impressed by his never-seen-before versatility in the
field of martial arts but Tony Jaa had turned down the offer as he was busy shooting for his second Thai movie "Tom-Yum-Goong" in the year 2005.After the release of Ong bak 2 in the year 2008,Tony jaa is finally back with its sequel "Ong Bak 3".The movie is all set to release in the mid december of 2009.The main reason for this movie to be so hyped is because of Jaa's versatile action skills which he has been showing in his previous movies, thus, making the next movie to be even more successful in the Box Office than its previous one.Hence, all the Tony Jaa fans across the globe are eyeing into this movie as they are expecting even better and innovative martial arts and they would certainly not be dissappointed because the movie will be featuring
Tony Jaa in such a state where his arms and legs will be broken by torture and would therefore, require Jaa's character to fight with some sort of boneless action. Now does'nt it sound interesting? The fans are totally going nuts over this movie and they are somehow killing days for its release.

On the 2nd position we have the masters of alternate rock circle,Linkin Park, who has redefined the rock music with samplings and turn tables, thus making it sound like never before.Their mixing of alternate rock along with rapcore and nu-metal has revolutionized the rock genre to an all new level. They are almost ready to release their fourth studio album at the end of this year whose title has yet not been disclosed. The band has announced this new album to be "genre-busting".The new album will also have in comparison to Minutes to Midnight a bigger "thread of consistency" and will be even more experimental.Hopefully, this new album of LP proves to be even better than the first two albums "Hybrid theory" and "Meteora".After all, their third album
"Minutes To Midnight" was not able to keep its standard at par with their first two albums. That's why the fans are keeping their fingers crossed and are expecting LP's new album to be a super-successfull one.A good news about their new album is that it has been produced by Rick Rubin of Warner Brothers. The first two albums of LP were produced by him but he had backed off in between and now he is back again, thus, giving the new album an upper hand towards success.

And finally,on the 1st position,we have something for which, atleast everyone in India, has been awaiting the most.Well friends, the wait is almost over.Just a few more finishing touches to go and then our "Mr.Perfectionist" Aamir Khan along with Rajkumar Hirani of Munnabhai fame will be all set to release their upcoming movie "3 Idiots" on 25th December 2009.3 Idiots is a movie directed by Rajkumar Hirani which stars Aamir khan,Kareena Kapoor,R.Madhavan,Sharman
Joshi,Boman Irani and Mona Singh in the major roles.Kajol was however, supposed to play another lead role in the film but she turned down the offer as she was busy shooting for Karan Johar's "My Name Is Khan".The role went to Kareena Kapoor, who had a long time desire of working with Aamir Khan.Kajol will however make a cameo appearance.Mona Singh of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi fame was roped in to play a role created specifically for the movie.Newcomer Rahul Kumar has been signed for playing a small part in the film. The movie is said to be loosely based on the famous Indian novel "Five Point Someone" written by Chetan Bhagat. However,Chetan Bhagat was not involved in any form behind making this movie. The director has just seeked his permission before making his novel as the base of the movie and then he has changed the script according to his own requirements. But Rajkumar Hirani had the courtesy to show Chetan Bhagat the final script of the movie and the latter has really appreciated it.It is a story of 3 friends and their IIT hostel days that swings between Rancho's[Aamir Khan] college romance with the spirited Pia[Kareena Kapoor],and his clash with an impossible mentor[Boman Irani].Two of the friends embark on a request for a lost buddy. On this journey they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash and a funeral that goes impossibly out of control. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey begins which happens to be their inner journey through memory lane and the story of their friend–the impossible free thinker Rancho[Aamir Khan],who in his unique way, touches and changes their lives. Finally in the beautiful mountains of unparalleled beauty, the friends[R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi]find the key to the secret that they seek.
The music of the film has been composed by Shantanu Moitra and the lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire. The music is all set to release in the 3rd week of November.3 Idiots is a comedy of ideas that is as provocative as funny,as wildly entertaining as insightful. It is a laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits.

3 cheers for 2 STATES..

Chetan Bhagat's "2 States" is a story about Krish and Ananya who are from two different states of India, the former being a north Indian Punjabi boy and the latter being a South Indian girl belonging to a conservative Tamil Brahmin family. Both are truly, madly and deeply in love with each other and want to get married.Offcourse, their parents don't agree. To convert their love story into a love marriage, the couple faces a tough battle in front of them. After all it is easy to fight and rebel with your parents, but much harder to convince them. The only catch is, Krish and Ananya don’t want to elope or be estranged to their families, therefore, they choose to convince their parents for the marriage.Even in real life,Chetan Bhagat is a punjabi and his wife,Anusha Bhagat,is a Tamilian.

His latest book is perhaps the best one after his much promising debut.
He dedicates this book to his in-laws.He admits that the book is inspired by his own experiences and yet he requests the book to be treated as a fiction. One can also call this book to be a sequel to "Five Point Someone" as the story continues after his IIT days are over.It starts off at a doctor's chamber followed by a flashback where the readers are taken to his day one at IIM A.No doubt,it starts off like a typical Bollywood movie eeshtyle.

At the back cover of the book, one can notice that the author has expalined a very valid statement.
He said that "Love cum arrange marriages around the world are simple:
Its all about the boy loving the gal and the gal loving the boy, hence, they get married.
But in India, its not all. There are a few more steps to it:
1)Apart from the girl loving the boy and the boy loving the girl, the girl's family has to love the boy and the boy's family has to love the girl.
2)Also the girl's family has to love the boy's family and the boy's family has to love the girl's family".
So,to make the above two steps successfull, the boy and the girl does whatever it takes by shedding all their ego and self-respect for the sake of getting married.Even after facing all this,if the girl and the boy still loves each other, then they get married.
Both Ananya and Krish take turns to win over each other’s families and then they try to make both the families like each other. After all in India, you don’t marry the guy (or girl for that matter), you have to marry the entire family.

Undoubtedly, this book gives its readers the perfect opportunity to dwell into the age-old ‘North India versus South India divide’.Krish may be a Punjabi boy, but he is blissfully unaware as how,in his community, greedily and offensively ‘boy’s’ side can come on the ‘girl’s’ side during
a Punjabi wedding.Similarly, Ananya, the Tamilian girl is completely unlike other Tamil girls. For one, she is not as dark as the usual southern girls and unlike her staunch family, she drinks beer as well as eats meat.(May be we should thank IIM for breaking the latter stereotype).

The book draws your attention to cultural differences in diverse India. There is this loud Punjabi music versus quiet, mellifluous Tamilian Carnatic music. Also the author has left no stones unturned to mock the Tamilians at almost each and every page of the book, thus, making it all the more funny and entertaining. So if you are a Tamil Brahmin, you would all the more enjoy this book if you have the ability to laugh at your own community. The only thing i would like to do the most, after reading this book,is to wish its author a good luck so that he does'nt have to enter into any kind of controversy as he has tried to extract comedy by making fun of the South Indians in every possible way.Although,he has mentioned in the Acknowledgement that he loves South Indians and he sees them to be his very own, thus, throwing an indirect appology. But who knows? This act of Chetan Bhagat might well hurt the sentiments of South Indians.

The book is written in such a way that it is definitely going to instill a few valid questions in the mind of its readers. The book would definitely question about the racism India practices against its own countryman? It questions that why we are scared to marry outside our clan? Lovers themselves have the dilemma whether it is worth it to marry someone outside their clan, thus making so many members of their families unhappy. Is it worth it?

But then since, we have been asking these questions for a long time with little progress, I personally read the book with complete detachment in one-go.I had a fair idea what was to come, so there weren’t many surprises for that matter.

Every Indian must read this book once,if they want to laugh out loud and if they want to know what lovers from different communities go through at the hands of their families. And i can bet on this fact that every alternate couple in India, who if reads this book, would find enough situations with which they can relate to the family problems that they had faced or are likely to face. How love is at mercy of societal, familial norms. And how a man eternally finds himself torn between his girlfriend/wife and mother. And if u r a fan of Five Pont Someone, then this is a must read because there are situations quite similar to the once the author had faced in his IIT days and in order to relate to them,he takes u back to his first book, hence, giving you a sense of nostalgia towards the National bestseller.
There is also a steamy account of a college affair, something which you could find a bit of Five Point Someone to relate to.Also the author has not at all taken any pains to explain the love-making scenes, thus making it somewhat different from his previous books, where,he did'nt
mind explaining each and every loving-making scene in complete details. This act of Chetan Bhagat might well upset all the perverts who loves to stay glued to the books like "Letters from Penthouse" or the novels of Sydney sheldon.

Review all said and done, I sometimes wonder why couples from different communities give into their feelings for each other when they know that they would not be able to go against the will of their families and that their families will never ever accept their partner. It is an unnecessary heartache and heartaches do leave scars, even if time heals them.I am glad at least Krish and Ananya, Chetan Bhagat book’s protagonists, tried even if the results are not always desirable. So,will krish and Ananya be able to make it?Read it out and find it out.

"Backspacer" brings Pearl Jam back in form..

Pearl Jam is an American rock band which was formed in Seattle,Washington in the year 1990.One of the key bands of the grunge movement in the early 1990s, Pearl Jam was criticized most notably by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain as being a corporate cash-in on the alternative rock explosion.

It's hard to believe that Pearl Jam has been around long enough for some classic rock stations to play their songs, and yet they keep coming out with outstanding albums.

"Backspacer"is Pearl Jam's ninth studio album. It is powerful and energetic as their first record, "Ten," released almost 20 years ago, proving that age doesn't matter in rock 'n' roll.

This album comes together as a good harmony of all the elements of rock music. There are fast, hard-hitting, songs, like "The Fixer," with a chorus that gets stuck in the brain for days.

There are more ambient songs that capture powerful emotion in a way only lyricist Eddie Vedder can. The acoustic "The End" is a classic, soft, and deeply moving Pearl Jam song. Vedder's voice is beautiful, comforting and massages the soul.

"Backspacer is an album that any music lover can appreciate, and one that all Pearl Jam fans must listen to.

The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 189,000 copies sold in its first week of release. It is the first Pearl Jam album to reach number one in the United States since album "No Code" debuted at number one in 1996.

Reality TV show's Bombshells turning on the heat..

Thanks to bombshells like Sherlyn Chopra and Rakhi Sawant, Reality TV in India looks all set to explode. After the glitz and glamour of 'Rakhi ka Swayamvar' on NDTV Imagine, it's now the turn of Sherlyn Chopra on Bigg Boss 3 to turn on the heat. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan's sobering presence notwithstanding, Sherlyn made her intentions clear on Day 1 itself. Unhappy with her tight-fitting choli, she was seen asking fellow housemate Poonam Dhillon to untie it. Will this be a clarion call for the other glam gals on the show - Shamita Shetty, Aditi Gowitrikar and Claudia Ciesla?Only time will tell..

Also Rakhi Sawant and Elesh Parujanwala of "Rakhi Ka SWayamvar" fame are not letting rumours about a break-up affect their relationship. The two have certainly not been shy about public display of affection and even shared their first full-blown kiss in front of the cameras. Love is no child's play for these 'Baby Borrowers'!

Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao could be among the 'cleanest' reality shows to hit Indian television in recent times. The show established its spotless image by getting women celebrities to bathe as frequently as possible. Everyone took a dip - from the voluptuous Negar Khan to the demure Shweta Tewari, all in the interest of good hygiene of course...

Payal, who has been seen in films like 'Tauba Tauba' and 'Mazaa Mazaa', did make a determined assault for the Bigg Boss 2 crown. Whether it required getting into a mini skirt, hot pants or a bikini, the actress went all out to give viewers enough reasons to keep voting for her. She made no secret of her ambition in an interview given after her elimination from the show. "I realised that I wanted to be noticed and wanted to be someone like Mallika Sherawat...People felt that I was hot. After a point I went with the flow. Love me or hate me but this was me," she was quoted as saying..

Poor Bapuji Homeless..

The government has expressed disappointment because a French company has snapped Mahatma Gandhi's Johannesburg house through an auction firm by the name "Sotheby".However, the Government said that it will continue efforts to acquire the heritage property through a public sector company.

Coal India Ltd, under the control of the Coal Ministry, had approached the owners of the house where the Father of our nation lived a century ago, for acquiring the property.

The Coal Ministry, through Coal India Ltd. had approached the sellers of the house and was ready to pay any amount they wished for. Negotiations were on but unfortunately, despite giving a month's deadline, the owners did not get in touch with them.

The Coal Ministry board has taken a decision that its employees would part with a day's salary towards a fund for acquiring the house.Infact Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal has already announced to donate his one month's salary besides making efforts for arranging more funds.

Voyageurs du Monde, a Paris Stock Exchange listed company, has bought 'the Kraal', located at the leafy suburb of Orchards in Johannesburg at a price believed to be almost twice the asking price of US $377,029.

This is a matter which concerns national sentiment and it is really disappointing that one of our national heritage has been taken away from us.Our country has, therefore, lost its another precious treasure.

Threat to Kabul's Indian Embassy

A powerful explosion took place when a vehicle with explosives drove into the wall of our Indian Embassy in Afghanistan's capital city at around 8:27 Kabul time.Unfortunately,12 people have been killed and 84 others have been injured. But fortunately, all the personnel who were inside the embassy at the time of the blast are safe.Three of our personnel who were guarding the perimeter wall of our Embassy have been slightly injured.A suicide bomber was involved in the blast who came up to the outside perimeter wall of the Indian embassy with a car loaded with explosives, with the aim of targeting our Embassy.A plume of smoke was seen rising from the site of blast outside the embassy.According to Kabul's Indian Ambassador Jayant Prasad, all the members of our Embassy are safe.

Going through the past records, a similar attack had taken place on july 2008 on the mission in which four Indians were killed when a suicide car bomber rammed the front wall of our Indian Embassy, killing 41 and wounding 147.It was said to be one of the deadliest attacks in the Afghan capital.

Also this is the fourth attack since August in Kabul and the second attack on the Indian Embassy in a year.

India has thus become a big target because of its large presence in Afghanistan. Post-Taliban, New Delhi has pledged over $1.26 billion in aid to war-ravaged Afghanistan, making India the fifth largest donor nation to the country after the US, Britain, Japan and Canada but to no avail.
Pity and humanity is not something which can be shown in a country like Afghanistan because it has never proven to be fruitful to us as they are blowing our properties and innocent lives one after the another.Day by day,India and its people are getting more and more exposed to terrorist attacks. Is there any solution to this unending brutality?
